Clare was born and raised in Falkirk and on leaving high school, she trained as a Dental Nurse. She then worked within NHS Forth Valley, specialising in clients with special needs who required sedation and anaesthetics, in order to safely undergo treatment. Although happy in her work, Clare always felt that there was something else which she should be doing, something that would utilise her personality, strengths and abilities.
In the early part of 2005, Clare began her spiritual development journey and became a gifted psychic medium. This helped to explain some of the difficulties she experienced as a school pupil, behaviours which were seen as poor concentration or lack of attention. Beginning to understand who she was, helped her to plan her next steps and to integrate the new experiences which she was gaining through her personal development.
At the same time, she underwent significant formal training in the following specialties:
Clare’s development over these years was transformational as her confidence and skills blossomed. Over a two to three-year period, she built up her new business, Blossom Through Life where she provided all of the therapies previously mentioned, as well as running her own spiritual development classes, healing circles and platform mediumship demonstrations. In 2018 she was able to leave her position as a dental nurse after 20yrs and concentrate on her ever-expanding business, working with a wide range of clients with varying needs and challenges.
The pandemic, as with many businesses during lockdown, had a damaging effect as Clare could not see or touch clients to practice any of her professional skills so she had a sudden idea to start breeding chickens and Giant Continental Rabbits, which meant lots of study and considerable investment in infrastructure within the Shottskirk Rd Centre. What started as a small effort has grown exponentially and there are a multitude of different animals on site.
It was whilst working with her animals one day, that Clare suddenly thought about the benefits she could offer to many of the young people who had been coming to see her previously for anxiety and suicidal behaviours. This is where Magical Animals was born and why she is now Project Manager of this new and exciting charity, whose aim to support children and young people in local communities who have mental health and neurodiversity challenges and who are not engaging in mainstream services. Clare is someone who gets an idea and makes it happen, so the plans for the charity are large and diverse and include group sessions, face to face work, animal assisted well-being and animal care.
