Laura Graham

Laura has had a wide and varied life experience which started in 2001 when she joined the Army’s Royal Logistics Corps, worked in Gibraltar and Germany . After serving a few years and gaining a wealth of qualifications and experience, she met her partner and wanted to settle down and buy a house.

She immediately secured a sales position in a tile and bathroom showroom and very soon was offered the manager’s position as her energy and bubbly personality enabled her to build trusting relationships with customers, staff and the many tradesmen who used the showroom. She also introduced daily targets and motivated the staff to meet them which the did without any difficulties.

At the same time, Laura’s love of animals drew her close to a local dog re-homing centre and she began to volunteer there, helping to find new homes for dogs who could no longer be with their owners due to changes in circumstances. Laura took dogs home, looked after them and got them to full fitness then retrained them to move on to their new owners.

In 2013, following redundancy, Laura started a new position with Deeset and once again she quickly earned trust and respect and became a department manager recruiting and training new staff. She knows the company and the job very well, making her a very popular and trusted manager by both staff and senior managers. Laura has excellent communication and teamworking skills and is able to identify and manage issues as they arise.

In her personal life, Laura gave birth to a baby boy 7yrs who has since been diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder/neurodiversity. Despite the potential difficulties which such a diagnosis can cause, Laura has once again thrown herself into learning and understanding how best to manage her son’s differences. She volunteers at several clubs and sports centres, helping in any way she can, and steadfastly ensures that her son gets every opportunity available to him.

As a trustee of Magical Animals with an understanding of love and benefits which animals can bring to our lives, Laura is happiest spending time working with young people and the many small animals which live very happily at the charity.
